Where to Watch The Woman in Cabin 10
Kiera Knightley and Guy Pearce star in this claustrophobic mystery thriller, coming to Netflix 10 October.
Ruth Ware’s bestselling thriller The Woman in Cabin 10 has made the leap from page to screen, bringing its claustrophobic mystery to life in a star-studded new Netflix film. Directed by Simon Stone (The Daughter, The Dig) and co-written with screenwriters Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse (Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins), the adaptation sails into streaming this October.
What’s The Woman in Cabin 10 About?
At the centre of the story is Lo Blacklock, a travel journalist on assignment aboard a luxury yacht. But the glamorous escape quickly turns sinister when she witnesses what appears to be a passenger being thrown overboard in the middle of the night. The catch? Every cabin is accounted for. Told she must be mistaken—or worse, imagining it—Lo is left isolated, gaslit, and increasingly in danger as she digs for the truth.
The paranoia-soaked premise, Ware says, still feels uncomfortably relevant a decade after the novel’s release. “The fear of not being believed is perennial, unfortunately,” she told Tudum. “Cabin 10, at its heart, is about a woman who experiences something wrong, reports it truthfully, and isn’t taken seriously because of who she is. Too many people know what that feels like and I think we want vindication for ourselves as much as Lo.”
