Where to Watch Jude Law’s new thriller Black Rabbit
Fans of high-stakes drama and star-powered thrillers have a date to circle on their calendars: Jude Law’s new series Black Rabbit premieres on Netflix on September 18th. So what's it about?
Set in the pulsating heart of New York’s nightlife, Black Rabbit plunges viewers into a world where ambition, power, and family loyalty collide. At its center is Jake Friedkin (played by Jude Law), the magnetic owner of Black Rabbit — a restaurant and VIP lounge on the verge of becoming the city’s hottest destination.
But success rarely comes without shadows. When Jake’s brother, Vince (Jason Bateman), unexpectedly resurfaces to rejoin the business, their fragile empire is thrown into chaos. Old wounds resurface, buried rivalries ignite, and dangerous new players enter the scene. What begins as a tale of family reconciliation soon spirals into a tense thriller where the Friedkin brothers’ bond could either be their salvation or their undoing.
Described as both a “propulsive thrill ride” and a “character examination,” the series explores how ambition, trauma, and loyalty can fracture even the strongest ties — with devastating consequences.
The Power Behind the Series
Black Rabbit boasts an impressive roster of creative talent. It is co-created and executive produced by Zach Baylin (Oscar-nominated for King Richard) and Kate Susman under their banner, Youngblood Pictures.
Joining them are a powerhouse of executive producers, including:
Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan for Aggregate Films
Jude Law and Ben Jackson for Riff Raff Entertainment
Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Justin Levy for Range Media Partners
Andrew Hinderaker, Zac Frognowski, David Bernon, and Erica Kay
With Law and Bateman also starring, the show promises both sharp storytelling and heavyweight performances.
Why Watch?
If you enjoy thrillers where tension simmers beneath glittering city lights, Black Rabbit is set to deliver. Beyond its moody atmosphere and suspense-driven narrative, it offers something more intimate: a deep dive into the complexities of brotherhood.
As Jude Law himself has noted in past interviews about his work, he’s drawn to stories about relationships under extreme pressure — and Black Rabbit looks ready to push that theme to its breaking point. Combined with Jason Bateman’s knack for playing characters teetering between control and collapse, this pairing alone makes the series one of Netflix’s most anticipated autumn releases.

What has Jason Bateman said about Black Rabbit?
Speaking about the series, Jason Bateman told Netflix Tadum: “It’s really about these brothers who love each other but don’t match — one’s a screw-up, and the other is much more buttoned up. Everybody can relate to that. Everybody’s either got a sibling, or a friendship where you love being with one another, but it’s kind of dangerous; where that person usually gets you in trouble, but they’re really exciting to be around.”
