Television audiences in the U.S. and UK have a major new crime thriller to add to their watchlists. Fightland, the high-stakes drama set against the volatile backdrop of British boxing, will air on Starz in the United States and on Sky in the United Kingdom. Marking Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s very first internationally produced series via G-Unit Film & Television, the show dives deep into a gritty underworld fueled by money, power, and betrayal.
A Knockout Premise
The narrative centers on British-born boxer Duke Kilroy (Howard Charles). On the triumphant night he secures the world heavyweight title, tragedy strikes: a brutal attack leaves his brother, Calvin, dead. Overcome with grief and anger, Duke’s reckless reaction lands him behind bars in a U.S. prison for eight years.
Upon his release, a sinister revelation sends Duke back home with a single obsession: destruction. He sets his sights on his former promoter and notorious criminal kingpin Kingsley Marshall (Nicholas Pinnock), whom he suspects framed him. However, Kingsley has gone into hiding, leaving his family—including his wife, Joy (Deborah Ayorinde), who remains the true love of Duke’s life—to handle the fallout.
Determined to flush Kingsley out, Duke strikes a dangerous deal with a drug cartel seeking control over London’s criminal network. Infiltrating the Marshall empire from the inside, Duke must leverage every instinct that made him a world champion to navigate a bloody path toward revenge.
Star-Studded Cast & Heavyweight Talent
Beyond Charles, Pinnock, and Ayorinde, Fightland features a robust supporting cast:
Anita-Joy Uwajeh as Cebella “Cece” Marshall
Charles Babalola as Ezekiel “Zeek” Marshall
Tahirah Sharif as Kim Harper
Tyler Conti as Justin “Jay” Hall
Richard Pepple as Gary “Gazzer” Kilroy
Behind the scenes, Jackson executive produces alongside Francis Hopkinson (Wallander, Bancroft) and Kate Leadbetter (Woman in White, Catherine the Great) for Expanded Media. The series is created, written, and executive produced by Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith (Run, Save Me). Servicing as showrunners, executive producers, and writers are Power and BMF veterans Damione Macedon and Raphael Jackson Jr., with Peaky Blinders director Otto Bathurst helming the opening two episodes.
