As summer winds down, Sky and NOW are lining up an unmissable September schedule packed with gritty dramas, comedies, thrillers, documentaries, and blockbuster films. From the highly anticipated final season of Brassic to Robert Eggers’ haunting reimagining of Nosferatu, here’s everything coming your way.
Brassic – Series 7
It’s the last hurrah for Vinnie, Erin, and the gang. The seventh and final series of Sky’s hit comedy-drama promises a riotous farewell filled with old grudges, unexpected family reunions, and trademark chaos. Joe Gilgun returns as Vinnie alongside Michelle Keegan, Ryan Sampson, Aaron Heffernan, Parth Thakerar, Joanna Higson, Steve Evets, and Bhavna Limbachia. After 50 episodes, expect a send-off brimming with mischief and heart.
The Paper
From the creators of The Office comes a new workplace mockumentary set inside the newsroom of the struggling Toledo Truth-Teller. Domhnall Gleeson leads a cast including Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, Tim Key, and Oscar Nuñez. With sharp humour and surprising warmth, the series follows volunteer reporters determined to revive a once-great local paper.
Task
Mark Ruffalo headlines this tense U.S. limited series as an FBI agent tackling a string of violent robberies in working-class Philadelphia. The twist: the crimes are being carried out by a seemingly ordinary family man, played by Tom Pelphrey. The ensemble includes Emilia Jones, Jamie McShane, Sam Keeley, Thuso Mbedu, Fabien Frankel, Alison Oliver, Raúl Castillo, Phoebe Fox, Martha Plimpton, and more.
The Yogurt Shop Murders
This chilling true-crime docuseries revisits the notorious 1991 Austin, Texas case where four teenage girls were brutally murdered in a frozen yogurt shop. Featuring interviews with investigators, families, and the once-accused, the programme examines flawed police work, media scrutiny, and the lasting weight of grief.
The Sky Arts Awards
Broadcasting live on 16 September from London’s iconic Roundhouse, the Sky Arts Awards once again celebrates excellence across British and Irish arts. From literature and theatre to classical music and television, it remains the only ceremony to honour such a wide spectrum of cultural achievement.
The Gilgo Beach Killer: House of Secrets
This gripping documentary explores the home life of the alleged Gilgo Beach killer through exclusive interviews with family and friends. Produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s G-Unit Film and Television, the programme also sheds light on the victims and the long, complex investigation that led to an arrest.
Nosferatu
Visionary filmmaker Robert Eggers (The Lighthouse, The Northman) offers his take on the gothic vampire classic. Bill Skarsgård stars as the infamous Count alongside Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney, and Willem Dafoe. Expect a haunting, atmospheric tale of obsession and horror.
The Brutalist
This sweeping period drama follows László Toth, a Hungarian architect who emigrates to America after World War II. In Pennsylvania, he finds an influential patron in Harrison Lee Van Buren—but the relationship comes with dangerous strings attached.
Novocaine
Jack Quaid stars in this high-octane thriller as Nate, an everyman born without the ability to feel pain. When his girlfriend, played by Amber Midthunder, is kidnapped, his unusual condition becomes a lethal asset in his rescue mission.
Wolf Man
Christopher Abbott plays Blake, a man whose return to his childhood home sets off a terrifying night of survival. Joined by Julia Garner, the thriller blends family drama with supernatural horror as Blake faces both human and monstrous threats.
Love Hurts
Oscar-winner Ke Huy Quan leads this action-crime drama as Marvin Gable, a realtor pulled back into a deadly world of hitmen and betrayal. When an old partner (Ariana DeBose) reappears, Marvin is forced to confront his crime-lord brother and his violent past.
One of Them Days
Keke Palmer and SZA team up for this buddy comedy about two best friends and roommates racing to recover their stolen rent money. Their desperate attempts to avoid eviction lead to wild, laugh-out-loud misadventures.
Panda Plan
Martial arts legend Jackie Chan returns in this family-friendly action adventure. When Chan adopts a beloved zoo panda, a ruthless crime syndicate plots to capture it for a bounty. Cue globe-trotting action, fight sequences, and heartwarming comedy as Chan joins forces with his agent and the panda’s caretaker.
Amongst the Wolves
Set on the streets of Dublin, this gritty drama follows Danny, a homeless ex-soldier, who crosses paths with Will, a teenager escaping a violent gang. Their unlikely bond becomes a lifeline as both fight for survival in a city that has turned its back on them.
Atomic
Plus, don’t remember to catch new thriller Atomic, released 28 August.
Starring Alfie Allen (SAS: Rogue Heroes, Game of Thrones), Shazad Latif (Star Trek: Discovery, What's Love Got To Do With It) and Samira Wiley (The Handmaid’s Tale, Orange is the New Black), Atomic is an exhilarating action-adventure that throws two unlikely characters into the unexpected journey of a lifetime.
When the path of free-spirited drug smuggler Max (Alfie Allen) collides with JJ (Shazad Latif), an enigmatic outsider on the run, an unlikely friendship is formed. They’re swept into a chaotic, high-stakes mission they never signed up for— trafficking highly enriched uranium across North Africa and the Middle East, with the CIA, MI6, and a global web of opposing forces closing in fast.
