Sky Sports Gears Up for “One of the Most Highly Anticipated F1 Seasons in Recent Years”
Sky Sports unveils exciting plans for 2026 Formula 1 coverage
Sky Sports is preparing for one of the most highly anticipated F1 seasons in recent years, beginning in Australia on 6 March. After another thrilling campaign on the network, the 2026 season is expected to raise the bar further as Formula 1 enters a new technical era featuring new cars and major rule changes.
With a refreshed broadcast offering, a deep roster of experts and a range of new viewing features, Sky Sports is positioning its coverage to deliver a more immersive experience for fans across the UK and Ireland. The broadcaster will again be the only place where viewers can watch every practice session, qualifying round and race live across the season’s full 24-race calendar.
New Viewing Features for 2026
One of the biggest additions for the upcoming season is a more interactive way to follow race weekends from home.
New for 2026, fans will gain additional flexibility and control with a new immersive sidebar viewing experience. The feature will include Race Control, Recap and in-race standings, along with dedicated driver and team pages offering onboard cameras, enhanced data, explainers and improved homepage navigation. The feature is scheduled to roll out later this season for Sky Glass, Sky Stream and Sky Q customers.
Music will also play a role in the refreshed presentation. As Formula 1 moves into its next era, Tate McRae’s GRAMMY-nominated Just Keep Watching will serve as the new title track for Sky Sports’ F1 coverage going forward. First appearing on the soundtrack to F1® The Movie, the song reflects the pace and adrenaline associated with the sport.
Another new feature arriving this season is Pit Wall Live, where Sky Sports strategy expert Bernie Collins will guide viewers through qualifying and race strategy live from the pit wall.
Internationally, the coverage will also expand its reach. As part of Apple TV’s inaugural season as the exclusive U.S. broadcaster of F1, Sky Sports will be one of the broadcasts available to fans when they tune in.
More Ways to Follow the Action
Sky Sports will continue to build on several established fan-favourite features throughout the 2026 season.
Viewers will once again be able to select onboard camera streams for any of the 20 drivers, complete with team radio messages, across every race, Sprint, qualifying session and practice.
Pre-race coverage will feature the popular Grid Walk, delivering exclusive insights and interviews with VIP guests roughly 30 minutes before lights out.
Technical analysis will remain a cornerstone of the broadcast. Anthony Davidson and Karun Chandhok will continue to break down key moments from races using the SkyPad, with Davidson bringing additional insight following his role as a development driver helping shape Mercedes’ 2026 campaign.
Ted Kravitz’s The Notebook will return for its regular deep-dive segments after qualifying on Saturdays and races on Sundays, offering paddock insights and behind-the-scenes reporting.
Meanwhile, The F1 Show will continue its weekly format. The Friday edition previews the upcoming race weekend with live coverage from the paddock, while the Tuesday show reviews the previous race and answers fan questions. The programme is available on YouTube and in audio form for fans listening on the go.
Alongside broadcast coverage, Sky Sports will expand its digital presence with more original content across Sky Sports F1 social channels and SkySports.com.
All races will also be available in Ultra High Definition (UHD), delivering what the broadcaster describes as the sharpest and most immersive viewing experience possible.
Star-Studded On-Screen Line-Up
Sky Sports’ coverage will again feature a roster of experienced presenters, analysts and former world champions.
Former Formula 1 champions Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg and Jacques Villeneuve will continue to appear across the season, with Button scheduled to cover more races in 2026.
The full on-screen line-up includes:
