Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney to guest commentate on Sky Sports
Viewers can tune in to Live from Wrexham with Rob & Ryan from 19:00 on 13 March on Sky Sports Football, alongside the main live coverage of Wrexham vs Swansea City.
Sky Sports has partnered with Wrexham AFC co-chairmen Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds for a special one-off broadcast during Wrexham’s EFL Championship clash against Swansea City on Friday 13 March.
Titled Live from Wrexham with Rob & Ryan, the programme will see the Hollywood owners step into the commentary box for an alternative live broadcast. Hosted by Sky Sports’ David Prutton, the show promises an unscripted and behind-the-scenes matchday experience, featuring candid conversation and live reactions from the pair.
Produced by Sky Sports and airing exclusively in the UK on Sky Sports Football, the coverage will also include appearances from a range of high-profile guests throughout the evening.
“As with our decision to take over Wrexham five years ago, we genuinely have no idea how this is going to go, but we will give it our best. Neither of us have called a sporting event of any variety, let alone a sport we basically learned the rules of five years ago,” said Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, co-chairmen of Wrexham AFC. “Either way, it will be another unpredictable day at the Racecourse and we can’t wait. We’re grateful to our partners at the EFL and Sky Sports, the latter of which we hope is ready with the bleep button.”
Sky Sports presenter David Prutton said: “Rob and Ryan have done an incredible job at Wrexham, and they have really bought into what makes football and the EFL so special. We’re looking forward to welcoming the guys into our coverage, bringing a unique and entertaining experience for fans and offering something we’ve not seen before.”
