After teasing the track across his social media channels, the singer confirmed the news to fans and revealed that the song will arrive on 20 March.
Sharing the announcement online, Niall wrote: ‘i’m so happy and excited to tell you my new single ‘dinner party‘ is coming out march 20. presave it now at niallhoran.com
He also gave fans insight into the inspiration behind the track, explaining that it reflects a significant personal moment.
‘this song is about a really happy and big moment in my life. an evening at a simple dinner party that changed the course of my life. after writing the song , the words ‘dinner party‘ became the nucleus for the rest of the record. that once in a lifetime moment that i am grateful for and for everything that came after that night.’ (sic)
Speaking previously about the song, Niall hinted at the impact the moment had on him.
“You have that moment where you have, ‘wow this is different, than anything I’ve seen before, came across before’. And then your whole life kind of changes, drastically.
“How we met was quite fun, so I’ve always kind of like tried to carry that through the album as well.”
Although Niall collaborated on Thomas Rhett’s country track Old Tricks last year and released Drive Safe with Myles Smith last month, Dinner Party will be his first solo release since Meltdown in 2023. That track featured on his third studio album, The Show, which was also released in 2023.
The singer recently confirmed that work on his fourth studio album has now been completed. Shortly before announcing the news on social media, he appeared on Hits Radio Breakfast where he shared an update on the project.
“I’m just finishing off some vocal bits and things like that, that I wasn’t happy with, but yeah! I should have music some time this year. And I’m very excited about it!”
With the album now finalised, fans will get their first taste of the new era when Dinner Party is released on 20 March. The track will feature on Niall’s upcoming fourth album, although the title and release date have yet to be revealed.
