House of Guinness: Everything We Know About Steven Knight’s New Drama
Steven Knight’s upcoming drama House of Guinness delves into the captivating story of one of Europe’s most iconic dynasties: the Guinness family. Set against the backdrop of 19th-century Dublin and New York, the series opens just after the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, whose remarkable leadership turned the Guinness brewery into a global powerhouse. The story explores how his will shapes the destinies of his four grown children—Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben—and affects a network of Dublin characters intertwined with the Guinness empire.
“It’s the extraordinary story of a family who happens to be the inheritors of the biggest brewery in the world. They’re young and are given the task of taking on this incredibly successful brand,” Knight told Tudum. “The first priority is: Don’t screw it up. And the second priority is to make Guinness even bigger.”
Knight is particularly enthusiastic for viewers to meet the “naturally wild” family. “I’m just in awe of their zest for life — their lust for life, often literally,” he adds.
