Extraction spinoff series casts Boyd Holbrook and Natalie Dormer
Boyd Holbrook (A Complete Unknown, Narcos) and Natalie Dormer (The Hunger Games, Game of Thrones) have been cast in Netflix's Extraction spin-off series.
Boyd Holbrook (A Complete Unknown, Narcos) and Natalie Dormer (The Hunger Games, Game of Thrones) are joining previously announced Omar Sy (Lupin, The Intouchables) in the next chapter of the action-packed franchise — an adrenaline-fueled, eight-episode series set in the same universe as the hit films.
The Extraction films, inspired by the graphic novel Ciudad by Ande Parks, Joe Russo, and Anthony Russo, follow high-stakes search-and-rescue missions across the globe. The new series centers on Sy’s mercenary character, caught between rival factions and ruthless killers while undertaking a dangerous mission to rescue hostages in Libya. It also explores the emotional depth of its conflicted, flawed characters, each grappling with trauma, betrayal, and life-or-death choices.
As for Holbrook and Dormer, details about their roles remain under wraps. Whether they emerge as allies, adversaries, or something in between, audiences can expect their characters to inject fresh danger and intrigue into the franchise’s next thrilling mission.
“I’m a very lucky man,” Mazzara tells Netflix Tadum. “Omar is a huge talent. Joe, Anthony, and Angela have welcomed me into the AGBO family. The team at Netflix is truly the best I’ve ever worked with. Very lucky indeed.”
“AGBO is grateful to collaborate once again with our partners at Netflix, this time to expand the Extraction universe into a new medium,” says Russo-Otstot. “We were inspired to tell more stories in this global franchise, further exploring heroic yet flawed mercenaries who illuminate universal themes. Glen Mazzara truly excels at sophisticated and nuanced explorations in the genre series space, and we are thrilled to have the exceptional talents of Omar Sy at the center of our action-packed, multi-narrative mission.”
The new action series follows Extraction in 2020, and the the sequel Extraction 2 in 2023, which both starred Chris Hemsworth.
