Mark Gatiss Detective Drama ‘Bookish’ Renewed for Christmas Special and Season 3
Fans of Mark Gatiss’s detective drama ‘Bookish’ will be able to enjoy a Christmas special and a third season, it was announced today. Here’s your guide of where to watch them in the UK and overseas.
Fans of Mark Gatiss’s acclaimed period detective drama Bookish have major cause for celebration: UKTV’s crime channel U&alibi has officially re-commissioned the hit series for a two-part Christmas special as well as a full third season.
Created by and starring Gatiss (Sherlock, Doctor Who) as the eccentric bookshop owner and amateur sleuth Gabriel Book, the show will return with a seasonal festive mystery titled Bookish: The Crown of Destiny (2x70’). Production on Series 3 (6x70’) is set to kick off later this year, with the third installment slated to premiere in 2027.
The upcoming holiday feature brings viewers back to Book’s Books on Archangel Lane, promising a seasonal storyline filled with festive charm, wit, and sudden twists. Eagle Eye Drama (an ITV Studios company) continues as the lead production company, with international distribution handled by Beta Film and PBS Distribution.
