Comedy Central UK has handed second series renewals to three of its homegrown comedy formats, led by Jimmy Carr’s Am I The A**hole? from Tuesday’s Child.
Joining the hit panel show in securing recommissions are Iain Stirling’s Roast the Internet (8 x 60 minutes) and Stupid Central (20 x 30 minutes), presented by Babatundé Aléshé. Both titles are produced in-house by MTV Entertainment Studios.
Jimmy Carr’s Am I The A**hole? (8 x 60 minutes) — inspired by the hugely popular Reddit thread — proved a major ratings and social success for the channel. According to Comedy Central UK, it was the best performing original commission on the network in more than three years. The series also delivered the strongest social performance for an original title in over six years, generating more than 100 million video views and one million engagements.
The show sees Jimmy Carr return as host, joined by GK Barry and stand-up Jamali Maddix, as the trio deliver “no-holds-barred judgements” on members of the public over their questionable behaviour.
Meanwhile, Iain Stirling’s Roast the Internet will also return for a second outing, continuing its sharp comedic takedown of the online world.
The new series of Am I The A**hole? will once again be produced by Tuesday’s Child, with creative director Steph Harris serving as executive producer alongside Marc Beaulac, creator of the Am I The A**hole Reddit page, which has a global online community of 24 million people. Mia Cross returns as series producer.
