wheretowatch.tv exclusive! Harry Styles is set to return to the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge for a special performance on Thursday 12 March.
The global pop star will record the session at the iconic BBC Maida Vale studios in London, where he will perform live for Radio 1. The performance will air on BBC Radio 1 and will also be available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
As part of the Live Lounge format, Styles is expected to perform stripped-back versions of his own music as well as a cover of another artist’s song — a long-standing tradition of the popular segment. Greg James revealed today that this would be “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears.
The Radio 1 Live Lounge has become one of the most sought-after sessions in music, regularly hosting major international artists and producing memorable performances that often go viral online.
Styles, who first rose to global fame as a member of One Direction, has since built one of the most successful solo careers in pop. His albums Harry Styles (2017), Fine Line (2019) and Harry’s House (2022) have topped charts around the world and produced a string of major hits including Sign of the Times, Watermelon Sugar and As It Was.
The upcoming Live Lounge performance will give fans the chance to see the singer in a more intimate setting, with the Maida Vale studios known for hosting some of the BBC’s most iconic live music recordings.
Harry Styles’ Live Lounge session will air on BBC Radio 1 on Thursday 12 March, with the performance also available to stream on BBC iPlayer after broadcast.
