Huge Harry Potter star announces his return to the franchise
Tom Felton is joining the cast of ‘The Cursed Child’ on Broadway, and here's how you can get tickets.
Tom Felton is returning to the ‘Harry Potter’ universe. He’s announced he is going to be appearing in ‘The Cursed Child’ on Broadway.
Felton today told Today.com:
“We start 19 years later. Now we’re no longer children. We actually are the parents. So as much as it is reprising an old role for me, it’s very much treading into new, unfamiliar territory. I know him quite well as a kid. I don’t know him that well as an adult.
“It’s very, very easy to get emotional. When they put my blond wig on for the theater production, I just immediately cried. It was just sort of like a blast from the past.”
Additionally, in a statement, he said: "Being a part of the Harry Potter films has been one of the greatest honours of my life”.
"Joining this production will be a full-circle moment for me, because when I begin performances in Cursed Child this fall, I'll also be the exact age Draco is in the play."

Tom, who plays Draco Malfoy in the movies, will become the first original cast member to appear in the stage show.
He will play the role at New York's Lyric Theatre for 19 weeks from 11 November.
