Great British Bake Off 2025 to Launch with Classic Cake Week
Entertainment News: Fans can look forward to a familiar favourite as The Great British Bake Off 2025 opens with Cake Week.
The Great British Bake Off is returning to Channel 4 at 8pm on Tuesday 2 September — and the first theme week of the 2025 series has been revealed. Fans can look forward to a familiar favourite as the show opens with Cake Week.
The hit Channel 4 series will once again run in 90-minute instalments, with each episode putting this year’s 12 amateur bakers through some of the toughest challenges the tent has ever seen. Presenters Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond return to guide the contestants, while judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith will be keeping a close eye on every whisk, fold and rise across a total of 30 new challenges.
In the opening episode, the bakers begin with a Signature challenge that demands precision and artistry: a Swiss roll with an intricate inlay design. The first Technical sees the contestants face the unpredictability of fondant fancies — with no recipe or flavour guidance provided under the gingham cloth. To finish, the Showstopper raises the bar even higher, as the bakers must create an ambitious landscape cake.
As always, one baker will be named Star Baker at the end of the week, while another will be the first to leave the tent. The question remains: whose sponge will rise to the occasion, and whose Swiss roll will fall flat?
The Great British Bake Off 2025 returns this autumn on Channel 4.
