Tyler West replaces Scott Mills to host Race Across the World: The Detour video podcast
A new companion podcast for the hit travel competition Race Across the World is launching this week, with broadcaster and DJ Tyler West confirmed as host, following the sacking of Scott Mills.
Titled Race Across the World: The Detour, the video podcast will offer fans a fresh perspective on the latest series, diving into behind-the-scenes moments and unpacking the challenges faced by contestants as they journey across the globe.
West will be joined by series four winner Alfie Watts, who is set to share practical travel advice, insider tips and personal insights drawn from his own experience on the show.
The podcast will be released weekly on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds immediately after each episode airs, positioning itself as a more energetic, unfiltered companion to the main programme.
Each instalment will feature a rotating line-up of guests, including digital creators, comedians and celebrity fans, who will discuss destinations, swap travel stories and reflect on the emotional highs and lows of the race.
The debut episode, available from Thursday 2 April, will include appearances from actor Kola Bokinni and singer and presenter Molly Rainford, with broadcaster Yinka Bokinni joining for an additional bonus episode on BBC Sounds.
Commissioned by BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds, Race Across the World: The Detour is set to run alongside the new series, offering viewers an extended look at one of the BBC’s most popular adventure formats.
