Ellie Goldstein has been revealed as the ninth celebrity set to compete in the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing. The award-winning BBC Studios production will waltz back onto BBC One and BBC iPlayer this September.
Ellie is a groundbreaking model, actor, and influencer who, in 2023, made history as the first model with Down syndrome to appear on the cover of British Vogue. Her career has also seen her front the covers of Glamour, Elle, Mission Mag, and Euphoria, as well as starring in major campaigns for brands including Gucci Beauty and Adidas. In 2023, she partnered with Mattel to help create the first Barbie with Down syndrome. More recently, she has turned her talents to acting, playing a guest lead role in CBBC’s Malory Towers.
Speaking about her latest adventure, Ellie said, “I’m absolutely over the moon to be joining the cast and pros of Strictly Come Dancing this year. It’s a show I’ve loved watching for so long, and the chance to now be part of it feels like a dream. I know it’s going to be challenging, but I’m ready to do it with the glitter and glamour and make some magic on that dancefloor. Let the Strictly journey begin!”
The announcement was made live on BBC Breakfast on Wednesday, 13 August. The rest of the celebrity lineup will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
