BBC announces Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 coverage
BBC Sport will be the go-to destination for fans of the Women's Rugby World Cup this year.
The Women’s Summer of Sport continues to gather momentum, with the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 in England set to be the next show-stopping event. It marks another key moment in BBC Sport’s standout season of women’s sport, “where Names Will Be Made.”
Excitement is mounting both on and off the field, and BBC Sport will be the go-to destination for fans—offering unrivalled, behind-the-scenes access to every try, tackle, and decisive play. Viewers and listeners can follow the action on TV, iPlayer, Radio 5 Live, BBC Sounds, the BBC Sport website and app, as well as @BBCSport social channels.
The coverage will combine the expertise of championship-winning players, pitch-side reporting, and some of the most respected voices in rugby. The presenting team is stacked with sporting greats.
Gabby Logan and Ugo Monye will front the broadcasts, joined by an impressive roster of analysts, commentators, and correspondents, all bringing audiences closer to the tournament than ever before.
One of the newest additions is Ruby Tui—Black Ferns legend, Rugby World Cup winner, and Olympic gold medallist. She rose to global prominence at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, not only for her gold medal with the women’s 7s side but also for her vibrant and candid interview with BBC Sport’s Jill Douglas. Her deep knowledge of the game and dynamic personality promise to bring extra spark to the coverage.
Ruby Tui says: “I love a full circle moment and so much has happened in Women’s rugby since the BBC interview with Jill Douglas at Tokyo in 2021. The last Women’s Rugby World Cup was one of the most historic sporting events in the world and I can’t wait to do it again and then some this time with the BBC team.”
Alex Kay-Jelski, Director of BBC Sport, says: “This summer has seen women’s sport smash through boundaries, break records and created unstoppable momentum. The Women’s Rugby Cup, hosted in England, will undoubtedly be a peak moment and place women’s rugby in the global spotlight like never before. BBC Sport will showcase every match of it live and bring together a presenting line-up of experts who know the game inside-out.”

BBC Sport will be the exclusive broadcaster of every match, streaming each one live on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website/app, from first whistle to final play. All group matches involving England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland will be shown live on TV, as will every game in the knockout stages.
Gabby Logan and Ugo Monye will anchor coverage from major venues across England, supported by commentary leaders Sara Orchard, Andrew Cotter, and Claire Thomas, and pitch-side reporters Sonja McLaughlan, Sarra Elgan, and Elma Smit.
Providing expert breakdowns are World Cup winners Maggie Alphonsi and Katy Daley-McLean, former England head coach Simon Middleton, and iconic co-commentator Brian Moore, offering fans unparalleled tactical insight.
