Amandaland and Traitors Return for Comic Relief in Star-Studded Red Nose Day Show
Comic Relief 2026 is on Friday 20 March at 7pm on BBC One.
Red Nose Day is set to return with a night of comedy, music and fundraising later this month, as Comic Relief hosts its flagship live show on Friday 20 March from MediaCityUK in Salford.
Broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer from 7pm to 10pm, the three-hour event promises sketches, performances and surprise appearances as viewers across the UK are encouraged to donate to projects supporting vulnerable people both at home and around the world.
A star-studded presenting line-up will lead the night, including Davina McCall, Joel Dommett, Katherine Ryan, Nick Mohammed, and Catherine Tate appearing in character as the beloved Nan. Organisers have also teased appearances from a host of special guests throughout the evening.
Among the highlights will be a world-exclusive sketch titled Traitors: The Movie: The Sequel, bringing together an “iconic cast” inspired by the hit BBC show.
Another returning favourite is Amandaland, with a one-off sketch featuring a host of famous “Amandas” taking centre stage for the special.
Viewers can also expect an unusual fundraising stunt as Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond attempt to raise money in a comedic sketch that sees them “robbing a bank”.
Elsewhere in the programme, Radio 1 presenter Greg James will arrive in the studio following his recent tandem cycling challenge, while four content creators will take to the stage to perform one of the “hardest songs of the century” live for the first time.
Alongside the comedy and entertainment, the show will feature a series of films highlighting the stories of people supported by Comic Relief’s projects in the UK and internationally.
The evening of fundraising continues on BBC Two at 10pm, where Romesh Ranganathan hosts a special Comic Relief edition of The Weakest Link. Six comedians will compete for bragging rights and prize money for the charity.
Donations can be made throughout the night by visiting bbc.co.uk/rednoseday, calling 03457 910 910, or by texting FORTY, THIRTY, TWENTY or TEN to 70702 to donate £40, £30, £20 or £10 respectively.
